Simon began as an accompanist at the Royal Ballet School (UK), then working with a series of Vaganova based teachers, honing improvisatory accompanist skills. After studying voice and composition (G.S.M.D) he wrote countless production scores and enjoyed a varied career in the theatre, alternating hats as composer/MD with actor/writer/director (inc Lysander in Phelim McDermott's A Midsummer Night's Dream for the English Shakespeare Co. and Maximillian in John Doyle's Candide), but throughout has maintained his love and connection with dance (inc composing Biography for the American dancer William Louther). Alongside Professional theater commitments, Simon has been Head of Music and Singing at several London academies, coached at Opera North and the Royal Opera House UK (working with composer Ben Park) and is an award-winning Musical Director. Still writing and composing in the theatre (including music for SLK Ballet), he is delighted to be associated with Chevalier Ballet.
