Become a Professional Trainee with Chevalier Ballet

Chevalier Ballet's new Professional Trainee Program has a 1 to 3-year commitment, designed for students ages 16+ who are dedicated to pursuing a career in dance.

Trainees experience company life, with rehearsals and performances as part of Chevalier Ballet Company, whilst continuing to develop strength and hone their classical technique through personal guidance and daily classes.

Training & Classes

Trainees will typically attend 4/5 hours of classes each day, including a ballet technique class and a rotating schedule of classes in pointe and variations, pas de deux, character, contemporary, jazz, pilates, yoga, and more. Because all classes are capped at 15 students, each student is able to receive the personalized instruction that is essential for their growth as a dancer. Classes will be taught by Artistic Director Sara Knight, as well as by the esteemed faculty and guest teachers of SLK Ballet School and Chevalier Ballet.

More Information

Housing is available through the Dancers Dorm Theater District for dancers in the Professional Trainee Program. Single rooms at the Dancers Dorm Theater District have fully equipped kitchenettes, high-speed wifi, bed/bath linens included, laundry and common area lounge in the building, and on-site staff 24/7.  The Dancers Dorm Theater District is located on 45th Street between 8th & 9th Avenues. ​

Tuition for the 2025-2026 season is available on application.
